Have you Checked in Today?

I get to receive e-mails everyday from both Christians and non Christians. Here is one of those e-mails that blessed me so much, I thought I would share it with you. It is titled “checking in”.

A Minister passing through his church, in the middle of the day decided to pause by the altar and see who had come to pray. Just then the back door opened, a man came down the aisle. The minister frowned as he saw; the man hadn't shaved in a while.

Do You Know Who You Are?

2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold all things are become new.

The Bible gives us a clear answer to who we are in Christ if we have committed our life to Him as Lord and Saviour. We are a new creation with a new identity. The old life style, the old man is dead and buried.

The Christian’s Authority

Luke 10:19 Behold, I have given you authority to tread upon serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall in any wise hurt you.

We have been given the power to torment the kingdom of darkness, to trample, to set our loved ones free from the clutches of the evil one. We have been conferred with a legal right in the spiritual realm, to carry out God’s rule and kingdom assignment on this earth. We have the backing of the King of kings who Himself says in Matt. 28:18 - All authority hath been given unto me in heaven and on earth ... GO! This is powerful.

Faith Living

KEY SCRIPTURES - HABAKKUK 2:4, ROMANS 1:17 AND ROMANS 12:3

The just SHALL LIVE by faith.

God has given to each one of us a measure of faith - for us to "live this life by faith" He wants us to live each day by faith, faith in God.

A measure of faith has been granted to each one of us and we are to continually fan that faith into flame. If we don't, it will die out and we will begin to live like those who don't know God and bring displeasure to Him.
Hebrews 11:6 - To please God we must walk in and by faith.

How much do you truly love God?

Do you love God enough to live a selfless Christian life? Could you give your last £10 note to someone that appears to need it more than you do or perhaps step out in the freezing cold to attend a prayer meeting? Just how much of yourself are you willing to put aside for God?

2 Corinthians 5 vs 15:
“He died for all that those who live should live no longer for themselves but for Him who died for them and rose again”.

Trusting Him in All Situations

And he said, the LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; the God of my rock; in him will I trust: he is my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower, and my refuge, my saviour; thou savest me from violence. I will call on the LORD, who is worthy to be praised: so shall I be saved from mine enemies. (2Sa 22:2-4)

Learning to thank, praise, exalt and worship God in all circumstances is the most powerful weapon we have against the enemy. Satan wants us to feel depressed, dejected, frustrated, discouraged, alone and sometimes unloved.

Why the Power

Act 1:8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

In 1993, late pastor Wynne Lewis preached a message titled “GET ON WITH IT” in his message he quoted Acts 1:8 and made this statement, “if Jesus said that this experience of baptism by the Holy Spirit was adequate and sufficient for launching and the continuance of the church, why should we seek any additional experiences? Instead let’s make the most of Pentecost that we have.”
