Hunger For God

There is a hunger in the heart of every human being. A hunger, or a longing for something. What is this hunger for? For some it is the hunger for power, for some it is a hunger for relationship, for some it could be hunger for acceptance. This hunger can be so strong that many will push boundaries, do anything just to satisfy that insatiable hunger within.

Unfortunately most of us never get to find that satisfaction we desire no matter how much we acquire. The truth is that this hunger can never be satisfied by physical, emotional or even material acquisitions. Power, wealth, relationships, not even the Christian ministry and many more can ever satisfy the deep longings that we have.

Finishing The Race

"I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith." 2 Tim 4:7 (KJV)

"I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, and I have remained faithful." 2 Tim 4:7 (NLT)

Watching London 2012 Olympics has been quite intriguing as I have seen athletes and sports personalities celebrate their wins, some coming first, second and third. I have seen the mixed emotions of those who completed their race but did not win, I have seen those who started well and flopped at the end without a medal.

The Problem of Lust

The act of sex fulfils a basic, physical need of all human beings. The sexual drive is given to us by God so that we will desire it to be satisfied – and the way to that satisfaction is through the mutual enjoyment of intimate sexual relations within marriage. Sexual intimacy within marriage fulfils our needs perfectly, but if we simply pursue the fulfilment of those desires in any way that seems best to us – i.e. outside of marriage – then, sooner or later, we will find we are satisfying no need at all.

God’s Abundant Life Through Christ

“The thief cometh not, but to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.” (John 10:9-10 KJV)

“The thief’s purpose is to steal and kill and destroy. My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life.” (John 10:10 NLT)

Jesus tells us that the purpose of the thief has always been to steal, kill and destroy. He wants to steal your joy, your hope, your purpose and your destiny.

Unlimited Grace

2 Cor. 12:8-9 (NLT) - “Three different times I begged the Lord to take it away. Each time he said, ‘My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.’ So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me.”

The Christian journey can be full of challenges and sometimes doubts and fear. We sometimes feel we are all alone in whatever circumstance or situation we are going through. At other times we do not know who or where to turn. Most times we are confronted by the challenges of sharing the word and winning souls. There are times we are confronted with issues of finances and lack, challenges of sickness in the family, challenges of loss of jobs, childlessness and many more. Sometimes we even doubt if God really is in charge in all of this and questions might even arise, why me?

Save One Soul

The other day I listened to the most amazing testimony. About 30 years ago a 24 year old man with a wife and a young daughter, kissed his young daughter and wife goodnight and went upstairs to his bedroom and took an overdose of barbiturate, downed it with vodka and went to bed.

What Have You Got In Your Hand?

It is really amazing that when Moses asked God how to prove to the Jews that he has been sent by God; God asked Moses what he had in his hand. Moses answered "A Rod". A Rod in Moses hand may have been so insignificant to him but not to God.
