What Have You Got In Your Hand?

It is really amazing that when Moses asked God how to prove to the Jews that he has been sent by God; God asked Moses what he had in his hand. Moses answered "A Rod". A Rod in Moses hand may have been so insignificant to him but not to God.

A Time to Build

Our theme for this month is taken from Ecclesiastes 3:1 and 3. Verse three clearly echoes our theme for this month, "A Time to Build"

We are at that critical time in the history of the world when rebuilding is very necessary. The rebuilding of families, the rebuilding of our communities, the rebuilding of our cities and the rebuilding of our nations.

Taste And See

In 1992, I was worshipping and speaking to the Lord; broken and downcast from uncertainties, drained from a number of issues that needed resolution. I had become so overwhelmed by the challenges in my life. I had just failed my driving test for the third consecutive time.

As I continued worshipping I had the Lord speak this words clearly into my heart, “I am the Lord your God and I do not change, I visit the iniquities of the fathers to the third and fourth generation but taste of me and see that I am good.”

A Victorious Christian Life

"Thou therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus. And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also. Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ. No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier. And if a man also strive for masteries, yet is he not crowned, except he strive lawfully. The husbandman that laboureth must be first partaker of the fruits. Consider what I say; and the Lord give thee understanding in all things." (2Ti 2:1-7)

To be a Christian can be both challenging and at the same time very exciting and full of pure fun.

Faith In His Word

John 2:5 - "His mother saith unto the servants, Whatsoever he saith unto you, do it."

Jesus first miracle as stated in the book of John was based on what He said to His disciples. His disciples obeyed Him and a miracle occurred. It very interesting to note that His mother said to His disciples that they should do whatever Jesus said to them to do, this was unprecedented, yet His mother had faith in His Word.

The God of Miracles

Not many people today believe that God still performs miracles. Even those who believe in His miracles sometimes do not believe they can be recipients of His miracles or even believe that God works His miracles through them. Today I had the privilege of reading two stories in the Metro Newspaper, both stories alluding to miracles.

Building God's House

In the book of Chronicles, God spoke to the Prophet Nathan and asked him to say to David, “Furthermore I tell thee that the LORD will build thee a house”. It is very interesting that God says He will build David a house.

One should therefore ask this question why would God choose to build David a house, of all the kings in Israel, before and after David, why David? Does that mean that God is partial? Far from it; We can however find the answer to this intriguing reason in 1st Chronicles 17:1 "Now it came to pass, as David sat in his house, that David said to Nathan the prophet, Lo, I dwell in a house of cedars, but the ark of the covenant of the LORD remaineth under curtains."
