Prayer Diary

PRAYER AND FASTING FOR END OF THE YEAR 2023

Dear Church

At the end of every year, we always embark on 7 days fast,  praying and fasting for the following year.

This year due to the numerous activities that has taken place, we decided to start on the 4/12/2023 instead of the 01/12/2023.

So, from the 4/12/2023 to the 09/12/2023, we will embark on 6 days fast instead of 7. However, we will embark on 7 days fast in January, starting form the 20/01/2024 praying and seeking God for His Presence in 2024.

Our theme for this month is Grove Park for Jesus

The theme is based on a scripture verse in Acts 8:4-8

4 Therefore those who were scattered went everywhere preaching the word. 5 Then Philip went down to the city of Samaria and preached Christ to them. 6 And the multitudes with one accord heeded the things spoken by Philip, hearing and seeing the miracles which he did. 7 For unclean spirits, crying with a loud voice, came out of many who were possessed; and many who were paralyzed, and lame were healed. 8 And there was great joy in that city.

There was great joy in that city because believers went out preaching the gospel and multitudes were healed, delivered, and heeded the message of Christ.

So, from the 04/12/2023, we will be praying for the community of Grove Park, asking for God’s mighty hand to move in the community, that the people of Grove Park will heed the message of Christ and that healing, and deliverance will be manifested in the community, in Jesus name.

A prayer diary will be coming out to you soon and we will meet to pray during the early morning prayer and in the evening at 9:00PM.

Please be encouraged to join .

God bless you.

WHY DO WE FAST AND PRAY  Many of you will wonder why do we fast and pray. The answer is simple.

Jesus encouraged the Church to Fast and pray.

Matthew 9:14-15

14 At that time John’s disciples came to Jesus and asked, “Why is it that we and the Pharisees fast so often, but Your disciples do not fast?” 15 Jesus replied, “How can the guests of the bridegroom mourn while He is with them? But the time will come when the bridegroom will be taken from them; then they will fast.

Jesus also told His disciples, that there are situations that require fasting and prayer before you can receive your breakthrough.

Mark 9:28-29

28 And when He had come into the house, His disciples asked Him privately, “Why could we not cast it out?” 29 So He said to them, “This kind can come out by nothing but prayer and fasting.”

Fasting signifies humility, whilst prayer signifies our dependence on God. We do not fast to twist God’s hand, but we fast for our own benefit, because fasting brings us to a complete surrendering of the flesh, so that we can connect with God spiritually. Our humility is expressed through fasting. So as a Church this month and next month we are humbling ourselves before God to express our need of Him in our lives and in Grove Park.

Praise the Lord.

Matthew 6:10

10 Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.

But if I cast out demons by the Spirit of God, surely the kingdom of God has come upon you.

Daniel 2:44

44 And in the days of these kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: and the kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand for ever.

Ezekiel 37: 1-10

3 And He said to me, “Son of man, can these bones live?” So I answered, “O Lord God, You know.”

4 Again He said to me, “Prophesy to these bones, and say to them, ‘O dry bones, hear the word of the Lord! 5 Thus says the Lord God to these bones: “Surely, I will cause breath to enter into you, and you shall live. 6 I will put sinews on you and bring flesh upon you, cover you with skin and put breath in you; and you shall live. Then you shall know that I am the Lord.”

7 So I prophesied as I was commanded; and as I prophesied, there was a noise, and suddenly a rattling; and the bones came together, bone to bone. 8 Indeed, as I looked, the sinews and the flesh came upon them, and the skin covered them over; but there was no breath in them.

9 Also He said to me, “Prophesy to the breath, prophesy, son of man, and say to the breath, ‘Thus says the Lord God: “Come from the four winds, O breath, and breathe on these slain, that they may live.”’  10 So I prophesied as He commanded me, and breath came into them, and they lived, and stood upon their feet, an exceedingly great army.

Today we are praying according to Ezekiel 37-

•       Let us pray God will breath over Grove Park, bringing restoration to every home, schools, and Churches.

•       Let us pray that every spiritual barrenness in Grove Park will be broken and that the breathe of God will bring purpose and direction to the lives of every individual.

•       Let us pray by faith that there will be a great spiritual awakening in Grove Park.

•       Let us pray for the outpouring of God’s grace and mercy over the community.

Acts 16:14-15

14 And a certain woman named Lydia, a seller of purple, of the city of Thyatira, which worshipped God, heard us: whose heart the Lord opened, that she attended unto the things which were spoken of Paul.

15 And when she was baptized, and her household, she besought us, saying, If ye have judged me to be faithful to the Lord, come into my house, and abide there. And she constrained us.

Acts 10:44-48

44 While Peter was still speaking these words, the Holy Spirit fell upon all those who heard the word. 45 And those of the circumcision who believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because the gift of the Holy Spirit had been poured out on the Gentiles also. 46 For they heard them speak with tongues and magnify God. Then Peter answered, 47 “Can anyone forbid water, that these should not be baptized who have received the Holy Spirit just as we have?” 48 And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord. Then they asked him to stay a few days.

Today let us pray that….

•       God will prepare the hearts of the people of Grove Park, to respond to the Word that we preach and turn to Jesus.

•       Pray that the Word Of God will bear fruit in the community.

•       Let us pray for the outpouring of God’s Spirit as share the Word of God.

•       Pray that God will replace their hearts of stone with a heart of flesh.

•       Pray for household salvation in the community.

Mark 10:46-52

46 Now they came to Jericho. As He went out of Jericho with His disciples and a great multitude, blind Bartimaeus, the son of Timaeus, sat by the road begging. 47 And when he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out and say, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!”

48 Then many warned him to be quiet; but he cried out all the more, “Son of David, have mercy on me!”

49 So Jesus stood still and commanded him to be called. Then they called the blind man, saying to him, “Be of good cheer. Rise, He is calling you.”

50 And throwing aside his garment, he rose and came to Jesus.

51 So Jesus answered and said to him, “What do you want Me to do for you?” The blind man said to Him, “Rabboni, that I may receive my sight.”

52 Then Jesus said to him, “Go your way; your faith has [g]made you well.” And immediately he received his sight and followed Jesus on the road.

•       Let us pray that Grove Park will attract heaven’s attention.

•       Let us pray that everything that is standing in the way of Grove Park attracting heaven’s attention will be crushed in Jesus name.

•       Let us pray today according to Zechariah 4:7 *Who are you, O great mountain? Before Zerubbabel you shall become a plain! And he shall bring forth the capstone With shouts of “Grace, grace to it!” *

•       That every mountain standing in the way of the move of God in this community shall be made plain in Jesus name.

•       Pray today that God will have mercy over this community and release His fire to bring restoration to the community.

Psalm 2:8-9

8 Ask of Me, and I will give You, The nations for Your inheritance, And the ends of the earth for Your possession.

9 You shall [a]break them with a rod of iron; You shall dash them to pieces like a potter’s vessel.”

Joshua 1:3-4

3 Every place that the sole of your foot will tread upon I have given you, as I said to Moses. 4 From the wilderness and this Lebanon as far as the great river, the River Euphrates, all the land of the Hittites, and to the Great Sea toward the going down of the sun, shall be your territory.

•       Declare that God has given us this community.

•       Declare that God’s righteousness shall reign in this community.

•       Declare that the knowledge of God’s glory shall cover this community as the waters cover the seas.
