The Stewarding / Welcome ministry is a Ministry of Helps according to 1 Corinthians 12:28.
The role of a steward is:
• Ordained by God
• It's an important role
• It's a gift
• The face of the ministry
• The Host of the House
• An ambassador
The ministry they carry out is wide and varied. It includes welcoming people with a smile, directing people to their seat with immense politeness and ensuring they are comfortably seated, showing people to the toilets as required, making sure noise levels are kept to the minimum during services and meetings, giving out welcome packs to visitors and taking them to their seats, serving communion, distributing different literature, taking and counting the offerings, helping during ministration times, serving refreshments, just to mention a few.
Our stewards do these and much more. Jesus said he who wants to be greatest in the Kingdom of God should be servant of all.
