Keep The Fire Burning

“The fire must never go out on the altar....”
Leviticus 6:13

This was God's command to the priests through Moses. The priests were to keep the fire burning. The fire on the altar was to be kept burning continuously.

As I look around me today and see the Church of Jesus I am amazed at how little fire there is in our churches today.

I am amazed to see how little passion there is in the church today and with no one to stoke the fire.

Where are the priests who are supposed to keep the fire burning?

And They Continued Steadfastly In Prayer

They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.
Acts 2:42

The early Church in Acts of the Apostle was a praying Church. They did not pray occasionally, they did not pay lip service to prayer, they prayed continuously in order to survive. They were steadfast in prayer and were not overwhelmed by the decrees and edicts passed by the ruling party. Prayer was part of their DNA.

Acts 1:14 tells us that,

These all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication, with the women and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with His brothers.

The True Message of Easter

Jesus paid it all for you, I and the whole world. Jesus is the true message of Easter and the reason for the season. Jesus was crucified; He died an agonising death, and was buried. He conquered death, rose from the grave and was resurrected back to life. By this He has made salvation and victory available to you and I.

Isaiah 53 verses 3–11

He Always Leads Us in Victory

2 Corinthians 2:14-17

"Now thanks be to God who always leads us in triumph in Christ, and through us diffuses the fragrance of His knowledge in every place.”

Did you know that victory is always yours—that it actually belongs to you?

Yes you! I am talking about you. Yes God always leads you in victory and not in defeat, because defeat is alien to God.

New Beginnings

Isaiah 43:18-19

"Do not remember the former things, Nor consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing, Now it shall spring forth; Shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness and rivers in the desert."

The Greatest Gift of All – Jesus

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life” – John 3:16

For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, and Prince of Peace” – Isaiah 9:6

This Christmas we celebrate the greatest gift of all, Jesus. God the Father so loved us His creation that He gave His only son Jesus that we might have life. We celebrate the coming of Jesus. Oh what a priceless gift. Jesus, a gift that money cannot buy. Jesus, the irreplaceable gift. Jesus the most precious gift anyone could ever receive.

The Church

Every believer knows or should know that the church belongs to Christ and not to anyone else. In Mathew 16:18 Jesus specifically refers to the church as His church and promised to build it.

…….I will build my Church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.

By the church, we mean, not an edifice of wood, stones but an assembly, and congregation of men and women; and not just any sort; but the elect of God, the general assembly whose names are written in heaven in the lambs book of life.
