Mat. 10:31 “Fear not therefore: ye are of more value than many sparrows”.This is one of the most encouraging scripture for me in the Word of God, the fact that I am valued by God. Everyone wants to be valued and everyone wants to be loved. Our true value however is God’s estimate of our worth, not what other people think of us.
The world has a tendency in evaluating people based on performance, looks, dressing, position, education, successes and achievements.Our worth before God however transcends all these earthly values; hence the Word of God says “you are of more value than many sparrows”. How much will it cost to buy two sparrows? A penny. Yet God is concerned about that sparrow that is sold for a penny and could be regarded as worthless based on its cost.
We sometimes get so discouraged by lives unexpected twists and turns, and feel God does not care or is not there. I want to encourage you today that God cares about you! Everything that you might be going through, He is even now fighting on your behalf.Do you want an assurance?Jeremiah 31: 3 “ Jehovah appeared of old unto me, saying, Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with loving-kindness have I drawn thee”.God reaches out towards us with an unprecedented kindness and love that has no end. Zephaniah 3:17“ Jehovah thy God is in the midst of thee, a mighty one who will save; he will rejoice over thee with joy; he will rest in his love; he will joy over thee with singing”.God is rejoicing over you with singing, God cares so much about you more than you know. Don’t be deceived, you are valuable to God.
Some people tattoo their loved ones, valued objects or cherished mementos on their bodies. Some times in obscure places like their backs where they can’t even see it. Guess what? God has tattooed you and me on the palm of His hands. Isaiah 49:16
We are told in Psalm 115:12, that God is mindful of us. He remembers us, He thinks about us; we are always on His mind. You are valued and special to God. The world might not appreciate you, they might not encourage you, and you might not feel special. You may have been let down, disappointed, your expectations unmet by those whom you had put your trust in. The Lord says “He will never leave you nor forsake you”.
Begin to renew your mind and see yourself as God sees you, VALUED!
