Trusting Him in All Situations

And he said, the LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; the God of my rock; in him will I trust: he is my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower, and my refuge, my saviour; thou savest me from violence. I will call on the LORD, who is worthy to be praised: so shall I be saved from mine enemies. (2Sa 22:2-4)

Learning to thank, praise, exalt and worship God in all circumstances is the most powerful weapon we have against the enemy. Satan wants us to feel depressed, dejected, frustrated, discouraged, alone and sometimes unloved.

When we look at the life of David, we can see clearly how we can live a life of victory in whatever situation we are in. God highly values our devotion in praise and worship at all times but especially during turbulent times.

Michal’s reaction to David’s supposed eccentric worship has a lot to teach us. Her criticism of David’s worship caused her to be barren.

Learning to praise God in all situations of victories as well as when we feel defeated or when we feel all alone, increases our chances for further victories.

But thou, O LORD, art a shield for me; my glory, and the lifter up of mine head. (Psalm 3:3)

This is a classic example of David even though in distress exalts the Lord and acknowledges the Lord as his shield, his protection and his security.

In his hour of humiliation, running away from his son Absalom, he refers to the Lord as the glory and the lifter of his head – the one who takes away his shame.

When circumstances go against you, when you feel all alone, when everything seem to go wrong, you may be tempted to react in the negative towards God and people. Please don’t. Praise Him, Exalt Him, Thank Him, and Worship Him.

Remember that God is closer than you think. He will not allow you to suffer shame, and He will not allow the enemy to overwhelm you.

You can trust Him in your darkest hour, and like David say,
The LORD liveth; and blessed be my rock; and exalted be the God of the rock of my salvation. (2Sa 22:47)

God is for you. He surely will come through for you. Never give up.
