The Greatest Gift of All – Jesus

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life” – John 3:16

For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, and Prince of Peace” – Isaiah 9:6

This Christmas we celebrate the greatest gift of all, Jesus. God the Father so loved us His creation that He gave His only son Jesus that we might have life. We celebrate the coming of Jesus. Oh what a priceless gift. Jesus, a gift that money cannot buy. Jesus, the irreplaceable gift. Jesus the most precious gift anyone could ever receive.

In Jesus we have all we need.

Have you received Jesus as God’s gift to you by making Him your Lord and Savior? If you answer is no, you cannot afford to delay any longer. What a better time to do it than now as we celebrate His coming. In Revelations 3: 20, Jesus himself says:

Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me.”

The Bible also records in John 4:10 that:

Jesus answered and said to her, “If you knew the gift of God, and who it is who says to you, ‘Give Me a drink,’ you would have asked Him, and He would have given you living water.”

Jesus wants to come and live in your heart and give you abundant life – a life of righteousness, peace and joy. So why not open up the door of your heart, invite him and let him in. Speak to Him right now and ask Him to come and reside in your heart,

If on the other hand you have already received Jesus the special gift of God into your life, what a privilege and honor to have him living in you!!! You are blessed and highly favored.

The rules of courtesy teach us to say thank you and show gratitude when we are given gifts. How can you and I say thank you to the Father for giving you His son?

We say thank you to Him by living for Him, surrendering to Him, fearing Him in a reverential way, loving Him with all your heart, praising Him, worshipping Him, obeying His commandments, serving Him, submitting to Him and the list goes on. This is our reasonable response to Him for the great gift He is to you and I.

There is no gift that can ever compare to Him. The gift of a husband, a wife, children, a palatial home, a fortune of £45 billion, excellent health, a flourishing business, a successful career, a fruitful ministry could never, never compare with His matchless worth. All these things are temporal; He is eternal, from everlasting to everlasting. Those things will fade away, He endures and abides forever.

The wisest thing we can do this Christmas is to cease chasing after shadows and hold on to the gift of Jesus and His Kingdom like never before. Our lives will not remain the same.
