As Christians, we will go through many situations that will sometime cause us to question the existence of God, situations that will create doubt or liturgy in us. Many times, we are faced or bombarded with circumstances that challenges our faith.
I am yet to see a Christian who is immune from the challenges of life. It could be health related, it could be challenges with children, it could be challenges with work, it could be with waiting for the right partner, it could be with the fruit of the womb and many more.
Yet the word of God says in Psalm 34:18-20
18 The LORD is near to the broken-hearted; He saves the contrite in spirit. 19 Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the LORD delivers him from them all. 20 He protects all his bones; not one of them will be broken.…
The Lord has promised never to leave us nor forsake us, His Grace which is His strength is what keeps us going.
Paul in 2 Corinthians 12, tells us about his trials and how he had called to the Lord and the Lord’s response was 9 …. “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.”
Jesus says to His disciples in Joh 16:33 These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.”
Scriptures says in the book of proverbs 16:16 For though a righteous man falls seven times, he will get up, but the wicked will stumble into ruin.
When Paul began his letter to the Corinthian Church in 2 Corinthians 1 with these words 3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, 4 who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.
Paul was introducing the Church to the Father of mercies and comfort who is able to comfort in every situation and circumstances we may find ourselves in. God also expects us to be a source of comfort to others who maybe going through similar situation, with the same comfort that we have been comforted.
What ever you are going through today, someone had gone through it before and you are going through it because God has faith in you and has promised never to leave you nor forsake you. Paul says in 2 Corinthians 4:9 persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed.
Jesus said to Peter in Luke 22, 31 And the Lord said, “Simon, Simon! Indeed, Satan has asked for you, that he may sift you as wheat. 32 But I have prayed for you, that your faith should not fail; and when you have returned to Me, strengthen your brethren.”
Just like Peter was prayed for Jesus even though Peter messed up, but Jesus knew Peter would return but he returns he was to strengthened to others, we have been comforted so that we may bring comfort to others. In us we have no strength but our testimonies, testifies of God goodness and brings comfort and strength to others.
