The True Message of Easter

Jesus paid it all for you, I and the whole world. Jesus is the true message of Easter and the reason for the season. Jesus was crucified; He died an agonising death, and was buried. He conquered death, rose from the grave and was resurrected back to life. By this He has made salvation and victory available to you and I.

Isaiah 53 verses 3–11

3 He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not.

4 Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.

5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.

6 All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the Lord hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.

7 He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth.

8 He was taken from prison and from judgment: and who shall declare his generation? for he was cut off out of the land of the living: for the transgression of my people was he stricken.

9 And he made his grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death; because he had done no violence, neither was any deceit in his mouth.

10 Yet it pleased the Lord to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the Lord shall prosper in his hand.

11 He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities.

He has made forgiveness and reconciliation to the Father possible. He has made healing, freedom from sin and deliverance available to you. He has made peace, joy, and His grace available. He has paid the price for you to have your name written in the Lamb’s book of life, go to heaven and enjoy everlasting life.

To enjoy these benefits of salvation, the first step is to surrender and give your life to Him wholeheartedly if you have never done so. Acknowledge your sinfulness and ask Jesus to come into your life – to pardon and purify you and become your Saviour and Lord.

If you are already saved, take some time in this season to reflect on the price Christ paid to deliver you from sin and bondage. Think about what He went through and what he has made available to you:

  • Jesus was punished that you might be forgiven
  • Jesus was wounded that you might be healed
  • Jesus was made sin with your sinfulness, that you might be made righteous with His righteousness
  • Jesus tasted death for you that you might share His life
  • Jesus was made a curse that you might receive the blessing
  • Jesus endured your poverty that you might share His abundance / riches
  • Jesus bore your shame that you might share His glory
  • Jesus endured your rejection that you might have His acceptance with the Father
  • He was cut off that you might be joined to the Lord
  • Your Old Man was put to death in Him that the New Man might come to life in you

So let this lead you to reach out to others with this amazing news of God’s love this Easter. Let it also move you to a place of greater gratitude, love for Him, surrender to His plans and purposes, and obedience to His commands.
