Jesus – Our All Sufficient One

Jesus Christ is the all sufficient one. He is enough for us. He is the all adequate one. He is all and all. he is everything we need and more. He is the answer to every need.

Let’s look into some specifics and scriptures:

  1. From the very beginning He was and He has been. All things were created through Him and without Him nothing was made that was made. In Him is life, the Life that we need. In Him we find light to illuminate our paths and guide us. Before anything was, He was and will continue to be. All things flow from Him. He is number one and will always be number one.

John 1: 1 – 3

In the beginning (B)was the Word, and the (C)Word was (D)with God, and the Word was (E)God. (F)He was in the beginning with God. (G)All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. (H)In Him was life, and (I)the life was the light of men. 

Colossians 1: 16 - 17

17 (AI)And He is before all things, and in Him (AJ)all things consist. 18 And (AK)He is the head of the body, the church, who is the beginning, (AL)the firstborn from the dead, that in all things He may have the pre-eminence. 

  1. He is the image of God. When you see Jesus, you have seen God. When you encounter Jesus, you have encountered The Father. In Him is life. He is the firstborn over all creation. All fullness dwells in Him. The fullness of God dwells in Him. Everything we need now and ever will need dwells in Him. It is in Him that we find fulfilment and are made complete. We are complete in Him

Colossians 1: 15

15 He is (AD)the image of the invisible God, (AE)the firstborn over all creation. 

 

Colossians 1: 19

19 For it pleased the Father that (AM)in Him all the fullness should dwell, 

Colossians 2: 9

For (K)in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead [f]bodily; 10 and you are complete in Him, who is the (L)head of all [g]principality and power.

  1. He is our hope of glory. True glory only comes to us through Him.

He is our only message to preach. We have no other message to preach but Christ and Christ alone. Why? He is the way, the truth and the life.

Colossians 1: 27 - 28

27 (BG)To them God willed to make known what are (BH)the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles: [i]which is (BI)Christ in you, (BJ)the hope of glory. 28 Him we preach, (BK)warning every man and teaching every man in all wisdom, (BL)that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus. 

John 14: 6

Jesus said to him, “I am the waythe truthand the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.

  1. In Him are all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge that we need for life. We find wisdom in Him. We find knowledge in Him. We get understanding from Him.

Colossians 2:2-3

that their hearts may be encouraged, being knit together in love, and attaining to all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the knowledge of the mystery of God, [b]both of the Father and of Christ, (B)in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. 

  1. All things are under Him and subject to His authority. All powers and principalities are subject to him. He is the first born. He is the most pre-eminent one. There is no other bigger and higher than Him. He is seated in heavenly places at the right hand of the Father and all things and beings are subject to Him

He is the head of all power and authority (Colossians 2:10).

He is the first-born over all creation (Colossians 1:15,18, 1Corinthians 15:20).

He is the head of the church (Colossians 1:18).

He has the highest place (pre-eminence) in all things (Colossians 1:18).

He is seated at the right hand of God (Colossians 3:1).

  1. In Him we have redemption, forgiveness of sins and reconciliation with God.

In Him we have redemption through His blood. the forgiveness of sins (Colossians 1:14, Ephesians 1: 7).

He has made us alive together with Christ, having. forgiven us all our trespasses (Colossians 2:13).

He has reconciled us who were once alienated by wicked works, to God (Colossians 1:20-23).

  1. In Him we have peace, healing and deliverance

He is our peace (Ephesians 2: 14)

By His stripes we are healed (Isaiah 53: 5)

He is our deliverance and deliverer (Colossians 1: 13 and 2 Corinthians 1: 10)

Christ must be our personal focus. Our go to person. Our sufficiency. Our all and all. Our everything. He must be our greatest possession and prized above all. He must be truly Lord in our lives, the one we love most. If you have never received Him as Lord and Saviour, do so today. Believe in Him, ask him to forgive you and help you turn away from your sins. Surrender to him today. He is all you need.

If you are a believer who has drawn away from him and relegated Him to the background, He is your greatest need. Retrace your steps and return to him. Repent before Him, and allow him back into your life.
