How much do you truly love God?

Do you love God enough to live a selfless Christian life? Could you give your last £10 note to someone that appears to need it more than you do or perhaps step out in the freezing cold to attend a prayer meeting? Just how much of yourself are you willing to put aside for God?

2 Corinthians 5 vs 15:
“He died for all that those who live should live no longer for themselves but for Him who died for them and rose again”.

As Christians we should be living to do the will of God which will require us to put the needs of others first as well as laying down our fleshly desires.

As a new Christian I seriously struggled to stop doing the things I KNEW were not of God. I tried in my own might and continued to fail. Then I finally realised that my love for God had to be far greater than my love for the pleasures of this world. Only then would I desire to abide by God’s word and walk along the path he had laid for me.

1 John 4 vs 19:
“We love Him because He first loved us”.

If we truly love God then we will love and want to be a blessing to people. If we truly love God we will have a strong desire to serve Him and others in whichever way it is needed. If we truly love God we will focus less on what is convenient or comfortable for us and much more on where our service is required.

Just how far are you willing to go for God? Is there more you could be doing?
