John 2:5 - "His mother saith unto the servants, Whatsoever he saith unto you, do it."
Jesus first miracle as stated in the book of John was based on what He said to His disciples. His disciples obeyed Him and a miracle occurred. It very interesting to note that His mother said to His disciples that they should do whatever Jesus said to them to do, this was unprecedented, yet His mother had faith in His Word.
If we are ever to go forward in our Christian walk, if we are ever to grow spiritually, if we are ever to see the promises of God fulfilled in our lives. We must like His disciples, do whatever He says to us.
Jesus Himself tells us in Mathew:
Mat 7:24 - "Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock."
We can clearly see in this scripture that Jesus was giving His disciples a foundation, a foundation that will withstand all trials, attacks, the needs and circumstances that we come against, a foundation based on His Word.
He tells us to forgive
He tells us to love our enemies
He tells us not to worry
He tells us to go the extra mile
He tells us that we are healed by His stripes.
He has His reasons for saying this to us and our place is to trust and have faith in His Word. For without faith it is impossible to please Him.
