The bible is said to be the bestselling book of all times, the most printed and probably the most quoted book in the English language.
The bible is not the work of a single man; it is a collection of 66 books by 40 authors from different walks of life, kings, prophets, farmers, shepherds, doctor and many more. We are told in the book of 2 Peter 1:20-21 (KJV):
Knowing this first that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.
Paul tells his protégé in 2 Tim 3:16-17 (KJV)
"All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: that the man of God may be perfect throughly furnished unto all good works."
It is therefore evident from the word of God that the bible is God’s word and instruction to His creation; it is the only book that can be trusted to equip us for good works.
The bible is not merely a book of doctrine, it is not a text book of science or history, it is not a book of fiction, neither is it a book of myths and legends, nor is it one of the religious writing as some would like to regard it.
The bible deals with every day issues of our lives, it deals with every human condition, such as love, marriage, death, and life after death, forgiveness, sin, salvation, grace, mercy, relationship with a loving and merciful God, who gave His only begotten son in order to reconcile a fallen world to Himself.
Someone wrote and I quote “the significance of the bible is not what it tells us about history, science or the future but rather what it communicates about God and how human beings should respond to Him.”
This is a book that can be trusted because God cannot lie, His word is true and His promises can be trusted.
"The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times." - Psalm 12:6
Trust Him.
