WOL Summer Picnic Outing

Venue: Greenwich Park

Date: Saturday 20^th July 2019

Time: 3-6pm (please arrive on time so we can walk together from the meeting point to the picnic area at 3:05pm)

Everyone please bring your own picnic along.

 

Group Meeting point:

Enter through Blackheath gate onto Blackheath Avenue (SE10 8QY) and our meeting point is at the end of that road beside General Wolfe’s statue (just past the Observatory on the left and past the café on the right)

There is a road train that can take people who need disability access down to the park. It is alongside the café on Blackheath Avenue.

 

Pay and Display Parking

Monday - Sunday (9.00am - 6.00pm) - £1.20 per hour (30p per 15 minutes, 4 hour maximum stay)

Disable badge holders and motor cyclists park free of charge, but are subject to 4 hours maximum stay Monday to Sunday.

Parking facilities at weekends and bank holidays are available via Blackheath Gate.

 

Getting to Greenwich Park

Greenwich Park is well-served by bus routes and is within 20 minutes walking distance of Blackheath, Greenwich and Maze Hill railway stations.

Jubilee Line to North Greenwich, then catch the 188 or 129 bus details below

Train

Nearest stations: Greenwich (follow signs to the Park), Maze Hill (for playground) and Blackheath (for Deer Park, Flower Garden & Rose Garden).

Trains depart from Cannon Street, Waterloo, London Bridge and Charing Cross 

Docklands Light Railway

Cutty Sark station - walk through the market to St Mary's Gate, King William Walk or Circus Gate on Crooms Hill.

 

Bus

53 Trafalgar Square - Plumstead stops directly outside Blackheath Gate entrance - good for disabled access and avoids steep hill.

54 Woolwich - Elmers End (Maze Hill stop for Blackheath Gate)
