Devotional 2019 - Week 8

Luke 18: 1 (NKJV)

Because he loves me,” says the Lord, “I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name. He will call on me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him.

1 Thessalonians 5: 17 (NKJV)

“ Pray without ceasing,”

In these scriptures we see Jesus Our Master teaching us that the wise thing for us to do is to always pray. Then we see the Apostle Paul, Silas and Timothy reiterating this and telling us to pray without ceasing. In other words, don’t ever stop praying, never quit praying. Why did they say this?  They said this to say to you and I, prayer to the God of Heaven will bring about a change in your life and mine.

Devotional 2019 - Week 4

Psalm 91:14 to 15 (NIV)

Because he loves me,” says the Lord, “I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name. He will call on me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him.

Jeremiah 29:13 (NIV)

You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.

In this day and age there are many reasons as to why we can be distracted from spending time communing with God; praying, reading the bible, sitting still in His presence. Some of those reasons may not be wrong in themselves but they are distractions. As women we tend to be busy taking care of our home, our families, dealing with practical and administrative tasks. It can be rather overwhelming at times.

Devotional 2019 - Week 3

Proverbs 11: 13 (NKJV)

“A talebearer reveals secrets,
But he who is of a faithful spirit conceals a matter”

1 Timothy 5: 12 – 13 (NKJV)

“ having condemnation because they have cast off their first [a]faith. 13 And besides they learn to be idle, wandering about from house to house, and not only idle but also gossips and busybodies, saying things which they ought not.”

Proverbs 16: 28 (NKJV)

“A perverse man sows strife,
And a whisperer separates the best of friends.”

It is clear from our scriptures this week that God’s Word frowns on those that it describes as talebearers, gossips and busybodies and whisperers.

It is unfortunate that a lot of women tend to be prone to gossip. Why?
