2016 - Week 36

Proverbs 21 verses 9 and 19 (NKJV)
Proverbs 27 verses 15-16 (NKJV)
1 Peter 3 verse 3 and 4 (NKJV)

“Better to dwell in a corner of a housetop, Than in a house shared with a contentious woman”.

“Better to dwell in the wilderness, Than with a contentious and angry woman”.

“A continual dripping on a very rainy day And a contentious woman are alike;”

“Do not let your adornment be merely outward—arranging the hair, wearing gold, or putting on fine apparel — rather let it be the hidden person of the heart, with the incorruptible beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is very precious in the sight of God”.

2016 - Week 35

Esther 2 verses 8–9, 15–17 (NKJV)
Esther 5 verses 1-2 (NKJV)

“So it was, when the king’s command and decree were heard, and when many young women were gathered at Shushan the citadel, under the custody of Hegai, that Esther also was taken to the king’s palace, into the care of Hegai the custodian of the women. Now the young woman pleased him, and she obtained his favor; so he readily gave beauty preparations to her, besides her allowance. Then seven choice maidservants were provided for her from the king’s palace, and he moved her and her maidservants to the best place in the house of the women”.

“Now when the turn came for Esther the daughter of Abihail the uncle of Mordecai, who had taken her as his daughter, to go in to the king, she requested nothing but what Hegai the king’s eunuch, the custodian of the women, advised. And Esther obtained favor in the sight of all who saw her. So Esther was taken to King Ahasuerus, into his royal palace, in the tenth month, which is the month of Tebeth, in the seventh year of his reign. The king loved Esther more than all the other women, and she obtained grace and favor in his sight more than all the virgins; so he set the royal crown upon her head and made her queen instead of Vashti”.

2016 - Week 29

Mark 14: 3–9 (NKJV)

“And being in Bethany at the house of Simon the leper, as He sat at the table, a woman came having an alabaster flask of very costly oil of spikenard. Then she broke the flask and poured it on His head. But there were some who were indignant among themselves, and said, “Why was this fragrant oil wasted? For it might have been sold for more than three hundred denarii and given to the poor.” And they criticized her sharply.

But Jesus said, “Let her alone. Why do you trouble her? She has done a good work for Me. For you have the poor with you always, and whenever you wish you may do them good; but Me you do not have always. She has done what she could. She has come beforehand to anoint My body for burial. Assuredly, I say to you, wherever this gospel is preached in the whole world, what this woman has done will also be told as a memorial to her.”

2016 - Week 28

Matthew 18: 23-35

“Therefore is the Kingdom of heaven likened unto a certain king, who would make a reckoning with his servants. And when he had begun to reckon, one was brought unto him, that owed him ten thousand talents. But for as much as he had not wherewith to pay, his lord commanded him to be sold, and his wife and children, and all that he had, and payments to be made. The servant therefore fell down and worshipped him saying, Lord, have patience with me, and I will pay thee all. And the Lord of that servant, being moved with compassion, released him and forgave him the debt.

But that servant went out, and found one of his fellow-servants who owed him 100 shillings: and he laid hold on him, and took him by the throat, saying, pay what though owes. So his fellow-servant fell down and besought him saying, have patience with me and I will pay thee. And he would not: but he went and cast him into prison, till he should pay that which was due. So when his fellow-servants saw what he had done, they were exceeding sorry, and came and told unto their lord all that was done.

2016 - Week 25

Luke 10: 38-42 (NKJV)

“Now it happened as they went that He entered a certain village; and a certain woman named Martha welcomed Him into her house. And she had a sister called Mary, who also sat at Jesus’ feet and heard His word. But Martha was distracted with much serving, and she approached Him and said, “Lord, do You not care that my sister has left me to serve alone? Therefore tell her to help me.”

And Jesus answered and said to her, “Martha, Martha, you are worried and troubled about many things. But one thing is needed, and Mary has chosen that good part, which will not be taken away from her.”
