Proverbs 2: 1-8 (NIV)
"My son, if you accept my words and store up my commands within you, turning your ear to wisdom and applying your heart to understanding— indeed, if you call out for insight and cry aloud for understanding, and if you look for it as for silver and search for it as for hidden treasure, then you will understand the fear of the Lord and find the knowledge of God. For the Lord gives wisdom; from his mouth come knowledge and understanding. He holds success in store for the upright, he is a shield to those whose walk is blameless, for he guards the course of the just and protects the way of his faithful ones."
As Christian women we should regularly seek God with all our hearts for guidance and wisdom. We should remind ourselves that our knowledge is limited. There are many decisions we are required to make in life which impact on us and the lives of our loved ones. We do not have the answers and even when we believe we do, we need God's guidance to steer us in the right direction. What looks right and logic may not be right for us in the eyes of God. What God has for someone else is not necessarily what He has for us therefore we need to seek Him.
God has wisdom that we cannot even comprehend. If only we would learn to trust Him, knowing He has our best interests at heart. Whatever or whoever he removes from our lives is done in order to protect us.
God has much in store for those of us who choose to live for Him whole heartedly with fear. God can reveal His plans and his heart to us if we are willing to listen and do His will.
God remembers the faithful and the committed offering his protection. He is a rewarder of those who diligently follow him.
I pray that we will be women after God's own heart, that we will acknowledge our limitations remembering that wisdom comes from him. Let us not lean on our own understanding and instead turn our focus to our God and Saviour.
