Matthew 6: 28 - 34 (NIV)
"And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you—you of little faith? So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own."
This scripture encourages us not to worry about our future. God has it all in hand - He knows our needs and He is able to meet them. The scripture mentions the flowers of the field and how beautifully they grow. They are admired by many yet can be gone in the blink of an eye. God places much more value in us therefore we should aim not to worry and chase after the material things of this world. God will not deny us or fall back on the promises He has made us. If we seek God's heart before seeking our own desires He will give us our hearts desires. When we choose to focus on God He will ensure our needs are met.
Let us cast our burdens onto our Lord and Saviour. There is nothing to be gained from worrying - it adds nothing to our lives. We need to change our mindset. No matter how many years we have carried the strain of worrying, God can remove the heavy load from our back and our hearts if we are willing to surrender.
I pray we will be women who walk in faith. That instead of worrying about our concerns we will bring them to God, we will pray for grace and strength believing God for the best.
