Matthew 6: 25-27
“Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life?”
The Bible clearly states we must not worry. Whilst the Bible does not explicitly state that worry is a sin, we can conclude this based on scripture. When we worry or are anxious it is our failure to trust God and His goodness.
Many of us christian women carry the burdens of this world. Some of us even worry in advance of a situation having no idea how it will pan out, but anxiety sets in and influences our way of thinking.
Whenever we are faced with challenges (and they will come), we should cry out to God in our vulnerable state. We need to accept it is okay if we do not have an immediate answer, or we do not have the strength to fight a battle. God is there to take on our burdens. If only we trust Him enough to surrender, laying all at His feet. God must be an integral part of our lives, not sitting on the sidelines until we are ready to draw Him in.
God cares about the most intricate details of our lives. Far more than we know. We can bring the smallest of wants or cares to Him with confidence that He is interested in our well being, but more importantly in having a relationship with us. God may not always bring us what we want and need when we desire it, but He will ensure all things will work for our good.
Worrying can steal our joy and hope if we become consumed by it.
Today, will you choose to sit at His feet, amongst the noise and chaos that exists around you?
Will you bring your cares to God?
