Devotional 2018 - Week 1

Jeremiah 29 : 11-13 (NIV)

"For I know the plans I have for you" declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call on me and come and pray to me and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all of your heart."

Having recently moved into 2018, let us remember the plans God has for our life. Let us be willing to put aside the plans and ideas we have in order to walk in line with what God has for us. There will be times our plans align with God's and there will be times they will not. We must ensure we are in tune with God and know of His heart towards us. No matter how wonderful our spiritual, career, ministry and family goals are, they can never match that of God's. God knows us far more than we know ourselves; our passion, our giftings, our strengths and our weaknesses.

Devotional 2017 - Week 51

Matthew 6: 1-4 (NIV)

"Be careful not to practice your righteousness in front of others to be seen by them. If you do, you will have no reward from your Father in heaven."
"So when you give to the needy, do not announce it with trumpets, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and on the streets, to be honored by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full. But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, so that your giving may be in secret. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you."

Devotional 2017 - Week 50

Proverbs 3: 5-8

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight. Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord and shun evil. This will bring health to your body and nourishment to your bones."

Devotional 2017 - Week 49

Psalm 23: 1-6 (NIV)

"The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing.
He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, he refreshes my soul.
He guides me along the right paths for his name's sake.
Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.
You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies.
You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.
Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever."

Devotional 2017 - Week 48

Matthew 18: 23-35

"Therefore, the kingdom of heaven is like a king who wanted to settle accounts with his servants. As he began the settlement, a man who owed him ten thousand bags of gold was brought to him. Since he was not able to pay, the master ordered that he and his wife and his children and all that he had be sold to repay the debt.
At this the servant fell on his knees before him. 'Be patient with me,' he begged, 'and I will pay back everything. The servant's master took pity on him, canceled the debt and let him go.
