Devotional 2018 - Week 46

Hebrews 1: 10-12

He also says “In the beginning, Lord, you laid the foundations of the earth, and the heavens are the work of your hands. They will perish, but you remain; they will all wear out like a garment. You will roll them up like a robe; like a garment they will be changed.  But you remain the same, and your years will never end."

God made the heavens and the earth. He separated night from day and land from sea.  God created Adam so man would rule over the land and go forth and multiply.  In life there will be challenges, births, deaths, pain, war, famine - all of which is mentioned in the bible.

God foresaw all of these things. He knows what is to come which is why we must put our trust in Him. God is never changing. He is the everlasting God. It is impossible for God to go back on His word. Whilst living as a Christian means a life of discipline, sacrifice and endurance, it brings much peace to know our God is a just God who does not waiver. Our God is no respector of persons.  His commandments are to be respected and upheld by all men. None of us are an exception to the rule.

Unlike man, God's years will never end. Unlike man God does not change. He is God and we are called to serve and honour Him because He is. God provides us with the stability and unconditional love the world cannot offer. Let us be thankful that we can put our trust in the one whom never changes.
