Joshua 1: 8-9
"This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success. Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go."
We have been commanded to read and meditate on God's word throughout the day. When we are at work or in an environment where we are unable to physically look at scriptures, we can speak them in our minds. The more time we spend in the word, the more our hearts will be focused on the things of God. Reading the bible builds up our faith and makes us strong even when we feel weak.
Reading scriptures reminds us exactly who we are; daughters of the King. We are then able to walk with faith knowing that God is with us, He is our guide paving the way for each step we will take. Even when we are alone in the physical and feel alone, God is with us. He does not waiver as those in the world do and has our best interests at heart.
This scripture also states that knowledge of the word and obeying the word can and will make us prosperous, guaranteeing us success in every area of our lives. We are required to put into practice all we learn in order to progress from just knowing the word to being doers of the word. I believe the success referred to here is far more than monetary success and includes good health, peace, healthy and solid relationships and church ministry.
Make it your mission to consume yourself in God's word. Spend time breaking down the scriptures in order to have a greater and deeper understanding. Take complete ownership for your spiritual growth and developing your relationship with God.
