2 Corinthians 4 verse 13
“And since we have the same spirit of faith, according to what is written, “I believed and therefore I spoke,” we also believe and therefore speak,”
This short verse of scripture spoke volumes to me and I pray it does the same to you this week.
Every one of us that is a genuine believer in Christ has this same spirit of faith in us. It is by grace and through this faith that we came to become saved. We believed that Jesus is the son of God, the saviour who came to this world to die and save us from our sins, and reconcile us to the Father. We believed in Jesus and confessed Him as our Lord and Saviour.
So, first things, if we are believers the first thing, we must do is speak to others about Him. If we believe in Jesus then we must speak of Him to others. Paul said I believed and therefore I speak. There is nothing like a believer who does not speak of the Christ that they have believed in and continue to believe in. Our faith in Jesus, we must speak of to others – family, friends, business associates, neighbours, peers, and everyone we have the privilege of interacting with.
Secondly if we are genuine believers in Christ and people full of the spirit of faith, we must believe in God’s power and speak words of faith. Our confessions must be confessions of faith. If we truly believe we will speak what we believe. If we believe that God is our provider, our speech will reflect this. If we believe that He is our healer, our words will communicate this. If we believe that with Him all things are possible, our speech will proclaim that with our God nothing is impossible. We will speak what we believe. If we believe that God can deliver and restore that which has been lost or broken down, our words must begin to speak this and speak it all the time. Yes, the situation and circumstance might be completely upside down, but what do believers in Christ do, they believe for a turn around and they speak it.
Jesus is speaking to all of us and is saying, you say you believe in me then speak to others about me. You say you believe then let me hear your words of faith that reflect the God that I am. You will stand amazed at what will begin to happen. Souls will begin to happen and miracles will begin to flow.
