2 Samuel 5: 9 - 11
Then David dwelt in the stronghold, and called it the City of David. And David built all around from the Millo and inward. 10 So David went on and became great, and the Lord God of hosts was with him.11 Then Hiram king of Tyre sent messengers to David, and cedar trees, and carpenters and masons. And they built David a house. 12 So David knew that the Lord had established him as king over Israel, and that He had exalted His kingdom for the sake of His people Israel.
How wonderful it is to enjoy God’s favour! When I read these verses of scripture, I see the favour of God upon David. The Lord of Hosts was with David. In other words, God’s good hand, God’s favour was upon him.
David had favour with man because God’s favour was on him. King Hiram blessed David and was favourably disposed towards him when he was not king yet. He sent him men and material resources and they built him a house without him even asking. This is favour!
When God favours you, man will most definitely show you favour. When God’s favour is on you, you know that God is with you. He blesses you, He protects, He guides, He leads you, He opens doors for you, He instructs you, He makes your enemies to be at peace with you, He increases you, He fights for you and much more.
To enjoy God’s favour in a way you have not had it before, become a woman after God’s heart. A woman of obedience, a woman of submission, a woman walking in Holiness and a woman of faith. This is the kind of woman that Mary the mother of Lord Jesus was. The result was that the Bible says she was Highly Favoured by God.
