According to the dictionary, deception is the art of making someone believe something that is not true. So, when you are deceived, you believe a lie.

The thing about deception is that when you are deceived, you don’t know you are being deceived. Deceived people think they are believing the truth, but in fact they have been sold a lie. You see, deception always has an element of truth in it. If it was a total lie, no one would believe it. So it is usually truth mixed with error. And deception looks good and attractive. It appeals to the senses. It is what people want to hear. It tickles their ears.

As godly mothers we have a wonderful - sometimes overwhelming - responsibility, to continually bring our children before the throne of God. This is to show that we are fully dependent on Him to accomplish His will in their lives, and not in our own ability.

But there is one thing we are not called to do... It is to beg God to answer our prayers! You see, begging is for beggars... and we are not beggars, we are children of God. As children, we can simply go to our Heavenly Father and pray with the confidence that He hears us and will answer us.

I recently heard about a Pastor who was beating his wife because she cannot wake up to pray with him at his usual 2 am prayer time. This woman has to be up for work at 6 am. She has never had to wake up to pray at 2 am before she got married, and neither does she feel the burden to do so now. She wanted to leave the marriage because her husband's idea of a prayerful wife is not matching her own.

It seems to me that the husband is regretting marrying this fine lady because all his aspirations for her are turning pear shaped.
