Devotional 2022 - Week 14

Acts 10: 1 - 4

There was a certain man in Caesarea called Cornelius, a centurion of what was called the Italian Regiment, a devout man and one who feared God with all his household, who gave alms generously to the people, and prayed to God always. About the ninth hour of the day he saw clearly in a vision an angel of God coming in and saying to him, “Cornelius!” And when he observed him, he was afraid, and said, “What is it, lord? ”So he said to him, “Your prayers and your alms have come up for a memorial before God.

The combination of prayers and generous giving is very powerful. This combination is like a lethal weapon that produces great results. Don’t under estimate what the prayers and giving of a believing and God-fearing woman can do. If a man who was not even a believer could have his prayers and giving come up to God, how much more you and I.

So please keep praying and giving till your prayers and giving come up before God for a mighty breakthrough. This is what happened to Cornelius. He wasn’t a Christian but he was a good man, who feared God, gave generously and prayed always. God was so impressed and decided to bless him with the one most important thing that he lacked.

One day a mighty breakthrough came, not only on Cornelius but on His whole household too. They all received the greatest miracle and greatest gift. The miracle of salvation and gift of the Holy Spirit, all in one go.  This is what Cornelius lacked. He didn’t ask for it but he got it, together with his whole family. Your prayers and giving are not in vain. They will one day speak not just for you but for your household. They will speak for you to receive that which you lack. There are many today who are enjoying the blessing of praying and giving parents. They are so blessed and people wonder why. Dear Sister, please pray always, be a generous giver, not just a giver. Your prayers and your giving will come up for a memorial before God and produce miracles that you didn’t even ask for. That’s a promise….
