Devotional 2018 - Week 1

Jeremiah 29 : 11-13 (NIV)

"For I know the plans I have for you" declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call on me and come and pray to me and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all of your heart."

Having recently moved into 2018, let us remember the plans God has for our life. Let us be willing to put aside the plans and ideas we have in order to walk in line with what God has for us. There will be times our plans align with God's and there will be times they will not. We must ensure we are in tune with God and know of His heart towards us. No matter how wonderful our spiritual, career, ministry and family goals are, they can never match that of God's. God knows us far more than we know ourselves; our passion, our giftings, our strengths and our weaknesses.

God wants the very best for us and with His guidance we can make the right choices in life. God always gives us the freedom to go the way in which we choose. If we move off course, there will be a way back onto the road but it will mean delays and other setbacks which we really cannot afford.

When we are waiting for the fruits of our sowing to manifest, we can become impatient and lose heart. This scripture reminds us that God has not forgotten us. He knows of our wants and needs and will forever be our source. He is concerned with all that concerns us. He is our provider, our protector, our father and our everything.

Let God be your first port of call when you need comfort, guidance, clarity and a listening ear.
