Proverbs 3: 5-8
"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight. Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord and shun evil. This will bring health to your body and nourishment to your bones."
As Christians we are commanded to trust in God. Trusting in God should not be an option yet at times we choose not to. Instead we rationalise situations and approach it with our limited knowledge and understanding rather than drawing from God. However wise we may be, God will always know best with matters pertaining to our life. He sees today, tomorrow and beyond whilst we only see this present time. We arrive at dangerous ground when we feel we are better equipped to make decisions than God, when we feel we need not consult Him.
We must submit to God daily, depending on Him for our every need. We must not delude ourselves into thinking we can do it alone or usher God into only particular areas of our life. He is Lord of all and deserves the regard and reverence. The more we spend time in God's presence; praying, reading and studying the word, the more we will gain a better understanding of His heart towards us. We can then trust Him to guide us as we walk along the path He has laid.
