Ezekiel 36:25-27 (NKJV)
Ephesians 5:18, 26-27 (NKJV)
"Then I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you shall be clean; I will cleanse you from all your filthiness and from all your idols. I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will take the heart of stone out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will keep My judgments and do them.”
“And do not be drunk with wine, in which is dissipation; but be filled with the Spirit,”
“that He might sanctify and cleanse her with the washing of water by the word, that He might present her to Himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing, but that she should be holy and without blemish.”
O what joy fills your heart when you hear the Word of God, and new revelation suddenly comes by the by power of the Holy Spirit to flood you heart. At such times, I jump for joy!
In our Old testament scripture for this week, we hear God’s plan for us His people. The plan of cleansing with clean water and putting a new Spirit in us. His. The clean water here represents The Word of God. The new spirit mentioned in this passage of scripture is the Spirit of God, the Holy Spirit.
In the New Testament, we see this truth reiterated in Ephesians 5. In verse 26, it talks about Jesus cleansing us His people “with the washing of water by the word”. In verse 18, we as believers are told “but be filled with the Spirit”.
The Word of God is pure and clean. It cleanses us of all our filthiness and idols. Let it wash your daily as you take time to dig into it. The Holy Spirit on the other hand is the one who enables you to live the life God has ordained for us to live. A life of obedience.
So, daughter of the most high King, you need THE WORD of God and THE HOLY SPIRIT both in your life. It is the Word and the Spirit. You can’t do without one or the other. For you to live a life that brings God glory. You need the word of God on a daily basis to cleanse you from the filth of the flesh, and the world. You also need the Holy Spirit, your helper to do God’s will and bring Him pleasure.
Fall in love with The Word of God and embrace wholeheartedly the person of the Holy Spirit. I tell you, you will not go astray, instead victory will be yours. Grace to you…..
